Creature of the Week

So, after much consideration I decided to make an account with ConceptArt.Org. A forum of people interested in the same occupation as I. It's really intimidating because of how talented everyone is. It took a while to work up the courage but I feel that only good can come from it. I'll learn a tonne and I'll meet a bunch of cool people and industry professionals. So, yay!

Anyway, on the forums there, they have weekly events. They have all sorts of concept art-based events based on category. They have Character of the Week, Environment of the Week, Industrial Design of the Week, Panel of the Week and Creature of the Week. They all have a theme which is revealed at the beginning of the week, then people have that week to come up with whatever they can. I've decided to enter the Creature of the Week (called C.O.W. for short). The theme this week is "Stinky Swamp Devil". This is a Work in Progress shot of my little devil.

From a Sketch to a Riddle Session

So, that little sketch from the previous post ended up getting me excited to do some dragon drawing... anyway, here's my current WIP.

A bit sketchy...

Well... it's really not a bit, more of a jpeg....
Here's a little dragon head doodle I did.

UrsaDONE

I finally finished the Ursadon after about a month of working on it on and off. I don't know the hour total I've spent on this thing, but It's a lot. I'm pretty happy with the result. Hope you enjoy...

I've always misspelled it 'foilage'...

Here's some more work with the Ursadon piece. I've mostly just been adding atmospheric effects and some foliage.

Going Green

Okay, so I've been working a lot on the Ursadon. Thanks for all the comments. I've finished up (mostly) on the bear itself. Now it's time to begin work on the actual forest. Here's my start. I'm planning on adding a lot of foliage to give the idea that the stream is basically like a road through impenetrable greenery. More interesting foliage will come in the near future.

CS4 Operational

Okay, so, you may be aware that all of my work is done on the tiny little 5x7" WACOM Bamboo I have and is done almost entirely in PS Elements 4.0. It means that my work has had some serious limitations as a result. It is with great pleasure that I can now announce that I have both Photoshop and Illustrator CS4 (acquired thanks to a little Demonoid). So here's to that. Here's a brief update of the Ursadon. I'm probably abandoning the drakes to pursue a different draconic image.
